Sunday 13 June: Bijoux Bristol

It is very hot but I feel I should do a run so do a sweaty circuit of the Goat Walk and Darts, struggling to cool down. Simon mows the lawn and does some last minute watering and pruning before we hit the road again once more. Ellie has prepared a magnificent feast a la M&S and we have a lovely picnic lunch on Clifton Down sheltering in the shade of a big tree. Sadly the branches also attract a number of the young locals and we realise it is a popular climbing spot! Back to E&M’s lovely new flat which is cool and light and very tidy. We walk around the corner to the Clifton Lido and enjoy an Aperol Spritz by the side of the Victorian lido and its swimmers. There is a long waiting list for membership we hear - not surprising for this urban oasis. Then to a bar overlooking the Clifton Suspension Bridge for a glass of Rose with fine views. Takeaway Sushi from Noa in Ellie’s flat and a comfortable night’s sleep.
